Lucid Lighting had its start in 1986 designing custom fixtures for architectural projects in New York.
Designer-craftsman Robert Wallace, (architecture and sculpture RISD, BS Architectural Technology NYIT,
with experience in architecture as well as furniture design and construction)
was asked by the architect, Leslie Gill, Architect NYC to create a light for one of her projects that they were working on.
He had already worked with Leslie on the furniture and fixtures on many other projects.
      It was accepted and installed.

Sometime soon after, Lesie asked him if he could create some original hand made lights for the offices of a young graphics firm in NYC -

      then under design and construction.
The project was a big success (floor lamps sconces and ceiling lights were ordered and also lights for the principals' apartments).
It became obvious that a new business was born and it was named "Lucid Lighting".

Since that time (31 years and counting),  Lucid has become Robert's sole business incorperating so much of the knowledge and skill
aquired through  the years. An ever expanding line of light fixtures has been gradually developed for commercial and residential uses.

The style of Lucid lights has been referred to as "transitional" - traditional in feel but simple and straight forward in execution.
These unique designs are given further character by being hand made to order. he passion is for good, simple design and quality construction.
The variety of finishes and customizations possible are virtually limitless.

We value good, friendly relationships with our clients. The phone will always be answered by someone who can give you
the answers to your questions. We love emails too, so don't be shy - email away.

We are also proud that all light are our own unique designs are hand made by us in only the USA.
Our goal is to make things of with the best materials and quality, beauty and integrity that can be valued for generations.

The lights are guaranteed for the life and we welcome lights that come back even after 20 or 30 years of use
if they need anything to keep them going. For that we happily charge nothing. In fact we feel this is indirectly constructive advertising.

We are very interested in new technology and will make available the latest and best in illumination such as with LEDs.

We do no advertising but believe that quality of design and  customer satisfaction should be the driving force behind our success.
